Santa Cruz Trip AKA Fun With Cousins!

Every year, the Harrigan clan gets together for a week of family fun in the Santa Cruz area. This year, Jay and Peggy upgraded the house, since we outgrew the beautiful house in Santa Cruz. So, we ended up in Watsonville right off the beach in a gorgeous, gigantic house with a fantastic view (of which I forgot to take a picture! Drat!).

This yearly trip will always hold a special place in my heart, as it was upon my first time joining everyone there that Billy proposed! This year's trip was also marked by the momentous occasion of Teo getting to meet his oldest cousin, Vince, for the first time. Below are some wonderful shots of Teo enjoying his five older cousins, all of whom had a lot of fun taking turns holding him! Enjoy!

My New Co-workers

Today (well, Sunday is her actual birthday) was my co-worker Kara's birthday, and I just happened to have the camera with me, so I now have a picture of my new co-workers for everyone to see! We went to lunch at Ernesto's, which is kitty-corner to our office, to celebrate and then had cake in our conference room. Happy Birthday, Kara!

Not pictured: Mike Dingwell, who is on a 6 month assignment at the Governor's office

More Mobile by the Minute!

So, Teo just keeps getting more and more mobile every day! They told me at school that he's starting to do a commando crawl/scoot! I tried my best to get him to do it for the camera, but I think that he's using the pile of the carpet at school to pull himself along, and our rugs don't have anything for him to grab onto. Cute nonetheless, if you ask me!

He's also really enjoying his tummy time a whole lot more these days - now that he can get into and out of that position on his own, of course! His little mini push-ups just crack me up! I set him in the crib so I could put away some stuff in his room the other day, and he flipped over and was peering out over the bumpers through the slats. Adorable!

Old Friend/New Friend

Teo and I had a playdate last night with Elizabeth and Miss Violet. Elizabeth and I met last year while we were both planning our weddings. We used to get together for dinner and a chat fairly regularly, but lost touch a few months ago. It was really nice to reconnect and catch up. Yay!

As promised...

From Toes to Tongue

Teo's newest thing? Sticking his tongue out. Over and over... and over and over and over again - CONSTANTLY! I think it's quite funny and cute, personally. (At school they said it's a teething thing - massages the gums - but I still think it's adorable! hehe) I snapped a couple of shots last night, so I will upload and post when we get home this evening. :)

Toes, toes, toes! Part II

Well, the toes finally made it into Teo's mouth yesterday! We were at the doctor's office and he was laying on the examination table, and all of a sudden he just pulled them up and in they went! I don't have a picture yet, but I will do my darndest to get one - you can count on that! :)

4-Month Doctor's visit

We had our 4-month (give or take 3 weeks) appointment today, and here are the current stats:

Length: 25 3/4" = 63rd percentile
Weight: 12lbs. 3.9ozs. = 2nd percentile
Head circ: 16.5" = 26th percentile

The verdict? He's still a peanut! The doctor does not have any concerns about his size, though, as long as he is still growing, which is all that matters.

The Wedding

The wedding was wonderful. Kelly looked beautiful, the ceremony was sweet, funny & heartwarming (yes, I cried - a LOT!), and the food was delicious. Oh, and the venue was amazing - they got married at the top of the tram at Heavenly, so the backdrop for the entire evening was beautiful Lake Tahoe, as seen from about 1000 feet above.

Teo did extraordinarily well, considering he was away from home overnight for the first time. He and daddy got a lot of time together, since I had some bridesmaid-ly duties to attend to, and daddy came through like a champ! Both Teo and I are so lucky to have him!

Here are some photo highlights of the evening:

Here comes the bride:

Doggles!!

Teo got to meet Jeter (yes, as in Derek Jeter), Kelly's lovable Chocolate Lab, this weekend and they became instant friends! Jeter is quite possibly the coolest dog EVER! Even I love him, which says a lot, since I'm not much of a dog person.

He didn't even seem to mind this!

Cute shots from last week...

Who knew sunscreen was such a great hairstyling product?!

Kelly & Seth Are Getting Married!

Teo, Billy and I are heading up to South Lake Tahoe in a couple of hours to take part in the wedding festivities. The "bachelorette" dinner is tonight, followed by the rehearsal and rehearsal bbq tomorrow, and then Sunday is the BIG DAY! Yay!

It'll be our first overnight trip since Teo was born, so you can imagine how much we packed for him, not knowing what exactly we'll need once we get up there. I'm really excited to put him in his baby blue linen suit, purchased especially for the occasion. He's going to be such a handsome little man! :) Billy is especially excited to have a lot of father-son bonding time, since I'm actually in the wedding. I'm excited for them, too, since Billy has had FAR less alone time with the little man than I've had - they're going to have so much fun!

We will be taking lots of pictures, so look for an update early next week when we get back into town. Ta-ta for now! :)

Toes, toes, toes!

Yes, folks, Teo has discovered his toes. He hasn't pulled them up to his mouth yet, but I have no doubt that's coming. He is so interested in them, that if you sit him up in your lap, he will basically fall face-first onto his feet because he's staring at them so hard! hehe! He also holds his foot almost constantly while he nurses. So cute!

Impromptu visit to Grandpa & Grandma's house

My mom called to chat yesterday about 4pm, and as I was talking to her, Billy suggested that we hop in the car and drive down to see them. (They live about an hour and 15 minutes away.) We realized that we hadn't been there for 3 weeks, and it would be at least another 3, if not longer, before we could get down there again, because we have Kelly's wedding next weekend, and Santa Cruz the following week, so we decided to go for it.

We enjoyed a nice visit with Grandpa, Grandma, Auntie Monki & Ryan, and my parents' friends, Dick & Debbie Williams finally got to meet Teo. (Debbie officiated at our wedding last year & has been dying to meet the little man!) Grandpa got some cuddle time, but Grandma had a small surgical procedure on Thursday, and since Teo is in a very grabby phase - and once he grabs he doesn't let go! - we decided it would be better to wait until she is healed, just in case. Next time, Grandma, next time.

Teo was fabulous - slept in the car both ways, and was his sweet, sparkling self for everyone to enjoy. He even put on a little bit of a show when Auntie Monki played some music for him (see video below)!

Thanks for suggesting the trip, Billy! A good time was had by all, but my un-spontaneous self would never have gone had you not suggested it! We love you, dada!

Holy Moly Roly-Poly!

Teo has become a rolling machine over the last two weeks in daycare! He had previously done it twice, but couldn't get his arm out from under his chest & just fell back over onto his back (due to the weight of his head, of course!) He has now perfected this amazing feat of prowess, though, and there's no keeping him in one place anymore! Doesn't he look proud of himself? :)

Owwie!

Poor Billy sprained his ankle playing basketball this week. The silver lining? We got to spend a little more time with him on Thursday because he couldn't play! :)

Daycare/work update

Work is going well. I really like everyone I work with, and the work has been quite interesting so far. I really love that I can go see Teo at lunch every day. If I hit all the green lights, I can literally get there in 2-3 minutes! And yes, I realize that it's close enough to walk, but if I drive I have that much more time to be with him. I need that right now. Plus it's well over 100 degrees these days, and the air quality is horrible, so I don't think a walk would be enjoyable right now. Maybe when it cools off a little...

As for Teo and daycare, it's going very well. He really likes all the caregivers, and they just love him. He's gotten used to taking bottles (though he luckily still prefers mommy!) and he's even getting used to napping there, which was a big concern for me. Diane, one of the caregivers, says she just "wrap[s] him up like a burrito" and he rolls over onto his side to "find his friend" (the bear from Auntie Angie - see the "I love my bear" post), smiles, sticks his thumb in his mouth and drifts off. Yay!

Billy has been amazing during this transition. Well, he's always amazing, of course! I really cannot imagine trying to do this without his help. He makes me lunch and loads up my car in the morning, and entertains Teo while I get ready to go. He also gives Teo a shower a couple of mornings a week - otherwise, I don't know how we would keep that child clean during the week!

I will have to take some pictures and hopefully a video of Teo's newest amazing feat to post this weekend. Oh, and in case you're wondering, the newest feat is some very good, controlled rolling from back to front! Stay tuned....

Swimming, part deux... (well, trois, really)

As I mentioned yesterday, we headed over to Aunt Susan's house for a fun little 4th of July bbq and get-together. We forgot to bring Teo's swim diaper (and camera) with us, but the pool was so nice and warm that we decided to try putting him in again, au naturale. Well, he actually enjoyed it this time! We did get a few pictures with Aunt Susan's camera, but we won't post them, since he was bare-bottomed.

We went back again today, though, swim diaper and camera in tow, and we got several pictures and a couple of videos for your viewing enjoyment.

Outfits from Aunties

So, today Teo wore not one, but two outfits from different Aunties! The first is an adorable organic onesie that says "Sweetpea" and has 3 peas in a pod on the front from Auntie Angie. The second is an adorable tropical outfit from Auntie Dotti. Isn't he precious?! :)

Thanks, Aunties! I love you!

Happy 4th of July!

Today we woke up, donned our red, white & blue, and headed out to walk in the 4th of July parade, which starts at the school near our house and ends at Glenn Hall Park. We saw our friends Heather & Keith & their daughter Audrey, so we walked with them and hung out at the park for a bit. We are now waiting for Teo to wake up from his nap so that we can head over to Aunt Susan's to try the swimming thing again. Stay tuned for Part 2!

Ready to go!
