12 month well baby stats

Here are Timothy's current stats:

Weight: 19lbs 12.1ozs = 10th percentile
Height: 29" = 29th percentile
Head circ: 18.27" = 50th percentile

He is now registering on the percentile curves, which is VERY good! Our new doctor, whom we like very much, said to keep doing whatever we're doing, because Timothy is doing great! Yay!

Dance Party!

How could I forget to mention that Grandpa Evaristo and Timothy had a dance party on Sunday afternoon?! My dad decided that he wanted to play an old record of German children's songs that I used to love (okay, that I still love and know most of the words to!) and he and Timothy had a great time dancing to it. Well, until the end of the second video, that is...

I found a picture of the record online :)

Walky Walkerson

In other news, Timothy pretty much walks about 90% of the time these days. He used to start crawling when he would fall, but now he just gets right back up and keeps going. He's also discovered that he can carry a lot more stuff when he walks than when he crawls, especially if he uses his mouth, as well as his hands! (I'll have to get a photo of that!)

Long Weekend at G'pa and G'ma's House

Since Billy and I both work for the State and it looks like we're about to lose two of our eight billion paid holidays, we decided to take advantage of our Lincoln's Bday/Washington's Bday weekend and get the heck outta dodge while we still had the chance! We headed down to the Bay Area to spend some quality time with my parents, and we got to do some fun stuff while we were there.

We pretty much relaxed and stayed out of the rain on Friday. Timothy enjoyed getting to explore his surroundings at Grandpa and Grandma's a little more, since they did some childproofing to accomodate him! He also did a bit more stalking of Ziggy, Auntie Monki's cat, who sadly still wants nothing to do with him.

Saturday, we had a little reprieve from the rain, so we finally got to take Timothy to Tilden Park. This is something that I've been wanting to do for a long time, as it is something that my family used to do quite often when I was little. It truly is one of my fondest childhood memories, so to be able to share this with Timothy and Billy was wonderful.

While at Tilden, we went on the little steam train, which was fun, but VERY cold, so we only rode it once (I still have 3 tickets left for next time!).

We also rode the Merry-Go-Round 3 times, and Timothy enjoyed it MUCH more than last time!

Lastly, we visited the little farm, where we were able to see some ducks, chickens, geese, and bunnies, as well as feed carrots to some very greedy goats and some very big cows!

We left the little farm just as the rain started coming down - we barely made it back to the car without getting soaked!

Sunday was another rainy day. Billy and I got to celebrate a belated Valentine's Day with a nice lunch for two while my parents watched Timothy. We went to Tomatina in Walnut Creek and had a delicious meal, and then did a little window shopping, which did not last long, since it was pouring and freezing!

When we got back to my parents', this is what we found (everyone, now! "AWWW!!!"):

Also, Timothy wore his little "All Star" baseball uniform, which was our V-day gift to Billy. So cute! The rest of the day was spent playing and relaxing and then we drove home that night.

All in all, it was a great weekend!

Bouncy, Bouncy, Bouncy!

"How does one pack and load up the car with a toddler in the house?" you ask?

Here's how!

My loquacious little dude!

UPDATE: He got the "oh" sound on Saturday, so now he says "uh-oh" over, and over, and over.... and over again! :)

Timothy has been working on several new words lately. He now says "bye-bye" (which sounds more like "buh-buh"), "all done" (sounds like "ah nun"), and "uh-oh!", but he can't form the "o" sound yet, so he either says "uh!" and then looks at you like "I know there's more, but that's all I've got", or sometimes he says "uh-uh". He also sounded like he was working on "night-night" last night, but hasn't quite gotten there. At the rate he's going, it'll be soon, I'm sure!

Lucky boy!

On Sunday, Timothy got to meet two very special people - Auntie Joy and Uncle Ron, who came out to visit my parents all the way from Virginia! They were here for a long weekend, and we got to spend a lovely afternoon with them. Timothy really took to them, and he especially loved Auntie Joy's laugh.

(Notice how my dad managed to get at least part of himself into every picture? hehe)

Happy (belated) Birthday, Uncle Aron!

Last Saturday was our friend Aron's birthday. We celebrated with a yummy meal at El Novillero, which Timothy really enjoyed (well, everything except the bite of carnitas that daddy gave him out of his burrito, that is!). Here is a cute shot with daddy and Uncle Aron:

Naran-naran-naran

"Huh?" you say? Just watch the videos with the sound on.

Good eater!

Timothy has gotten to try lots of new foods over the past couple of weeks. He has been eating finger foods more and more in preparation for his move from the infant room to the toddler room at school, and he has been branching out into eating a lot of the foods that we eat! He really enjoyed eating noodles when we had Mongolian BBQ, beans and guacamole when we've had Mexican food, and different types of stuffed pastas and pizza at home. He especially likes pizza!

He has also been practicing self-feeding, which is a very messy - if entertaining - endeavor!

Cute, but sure makes for a lot of clean-up!

Ch-ch-ch-changes!

Timothy is growing! As such, we decided that it was time to switch out his car seat. He is still in the rear-facing position, but he appears to be much more comfy in his roomy new digs. Oh, and he seems to enjoy the improved vantage point of his mirror, as you can see in the video!

You ought to be in pictures!

Becky finished editing the pictures from our photo shoot last Saturday, and I just could not resist sharing a few of my favorites!

My absolute fave (today, at least):

She did such a great job, I can't wait to see the prints! :)

Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my close-up!

We had some family photos taken on Saturday. It was really fun, and though we haven't seen all of them yet, here's a sneak peek. I can't wait to see the rest! Rebecca, the photographer, was great with Timothy (she has a little guy the same age), and we're really pleased with the results. I'm so glad we did it!

"When I grow up...

...I want to be just like my daddy!"

On Saturday, Billy was in the kitchen making some yummy veggies for Timothy, and the little guy spent the whole time hanging out in there with him. So cute!

11 months old!

I can't believe we're only 4 weeks away from the big O-N-E! It's amazing to think that a year ago today I was on maternity leave, not-so-patiently waiting for our little bundle of joy to make his entrance into this world. Today, I watched him play in a sandbox and eat some popcorn for the first time (not at the same time, of course). It's just an incredible thing, I tell ya'!

Anyway, we had a really nice day today. First off, it was absolutely gorgeous weather outside! Timothy slept in until 9:15 this morning, and when he got up Billy went to play basketball for a couple of hours while Timothy and I hung out and got the laundry started. When Billy got home, we had lunch and then he and Timothy went out for a little drive while I got started on some stuff I needed to do around the house. When they got home, Timothy napped for a little while and then he got up and we went to the park. And yes, the Superbowl was on, but Billy was more interested in hanging out and playing with us than watching it. He's the best daddy in the world!

We had a lot of fun at the park. Timothy went on the swings, down a slide with daddy, on a little fire engine ride-on, and as I mentioned above, he got to play in the sandbox for the first time. He LOVED it! When I put him down, he immediately started scooping and throwing the sand (see the first video) and then he promptly tried to eat a little pine cone. After the sandbox, we put him on this little alligator ride-on, and he went nuts (see the second video)!

The walk home turned into a bit of a safari, as we first had a little cat follow us for about half a block, and then we saw a wild turkey in the front yard of a house on our street (if you look at the middle of the second picture below, in front of the tree, you can see it). Odd!

All in all, we had a fun day (even if we did come home to watch the rest of the Superbowl)!
