This 'n' that

If you listen closely, right around the 25-second mark in this video, he clearly says "ball" twice! So cute!!

Here are a couple of pictures where you can see his new top tooth. The second one is about to push through, too (so we're having some fun nights, as you may imagine!):

And here are a few of him enjoying his first whole apple slice:

Communication

Timothy has been vocalizing quite a bit more lately, and he's actually attempting to say certain words! He says mama and dada quite a bit, but we're still unsure whether he associates those syllables with us or not. However, in the last week or so, he's started saying "buh" when we're playing with his ball and "muh" when he wants milk! He also talks/sings to himself a lot when he's playing or when we're in the car. It's so cute!

Also, on the signing front, he's now signing "all done" when he's done eating and wants out of his high chair. He only does it with one hand instead of with both, so at first I thought he was just waving at me (since he waves ALL the time), but he has been consistently doing it when I ask him if he's all done, so apparently that's what he means. I can't wait for him to learn more!

Workin' on my car

Catching up...

I know we've been MIA for a while, so let's play catch-up! Let's see... in the past couple of weeks, or so, we've:

Gone to a surprise birthday party for our next-door neighbor's girlfriend's birthday;

Said goodbye to our friend Tree;

Tried to eat mommy's old cell phone (several times!);

Gotten a new TV, which opened up a TON of space to play in the family room, eliminated the temptation of buttons to push, and took away all the sharp corners of the old entertainment unit;

Looked cute and snuggly in the carseat;

Replaced my friend Tree with my new friend Car, and waved at said new friend every time we walked past it in the living room;

Visited Grandma Niki and Grandpa Evaristo a couple of times;

And really enjoyed utilizing my command of the raspberry.... a LOT!

Of course, we did so much more than this, but you know how it goes when you try to catch up on stuff after the fact... :) I'll try to stay on top of things from now on!

Big Boy!

Timothy has two new pairs of "big boy" shoes. Today, he wore his "See Kai Run" shoes, and he looked so cute that I just had to snap a quick shot before we left in the morning. He's been a little unsure about the feel of the new shoes, but he took a few steps to show off for daddy today, so I think he's getting used to them. *sigh*

Finally!

I finally got a decent video of our little walking monster. It's short, but sweet! :)

And yes, I know I have a lot of catching up to do... soon, I promise!

Great Article!

I just came across this very interesting and informative article on my friend Miriam's blog. It asks some very provocative and eye-opening questions about what/how, as a nation, we are feeding our babies. Food for thought (no pun intended!).

And just like that - *POOF* -

my little baby is a toddler. This thought really hit me on Tuesday as I was getting him dressed to go to school. We received a HUGE box of hand-me-downs from cousin Joseph (many of them went through cousins Vince and Jack before that!) and there was a cute little pair of jeans in there. So I thought to myself, "I've been wanting to get Timothy some jeans! This is great!" and proceeded to put them on him. And then, there he was, smiling his adorable smile up at me... looking like a little boy instead of my baby! Bittersweet.

Little Walker

Timothy has now taken several steps! Once yesterday and several times throughout the day today, he stood up, let go and took off! I haven't been able to get him to do it for the camera yet, but here's some footage of him using his little walker. :)

Front teeth or first steps?

I really thought that the two front teeth would be pushing through before we saw Timothy take his first steps. The little lumps on his top gums have been getting bigger and bigger, and we can even see a little white showing through the skin. But alas, it was not to be!

It's been several weeks since he started standing unsupported, but this past week I was told that he actually stood up from the ground without holding onto anything. Then, Friday evening Billy was very excited because Timothy took one little step for him. He wouldn't repeat the performance for me, and didn't do it on Saturday either. Just now, though, he was standing in front of us both and he took one step and then promptly sank down to hands and knees! It was so cute!

We're going to have to keep having him practice with the cool walker that Aunt Susan got him for Christmas. He just loves playing with (and by "playing with" I mean "picking up and throwing") the blocks, but he just figured out this morning that he can walk around if he holds onto the handle. Thanks, Aunt Susan!

Heehee!

Christmas Eve...again??

Yes, we had yet another Christmas celebration this week, this time with my parents. Timothy was possibly exposed to roseola at daycare on the 19th, so we weren't able to spend the real Christmas Eve with my family due to my mom's health issues. So we waited for the incubation period to pass, and went down to celebrate Christmas on New Year's Eve.

We had a nice, quiet visit, opened a few gifts, and spent a relaxing New Year's Day doing pretty much nothing. It was great! My parents, Angie and Ryan had a good time with Timothy, and were glad to be able to spend more than just a couple of hours with him. He, of course, was his adorable self, though Angie's cat Ziggy still does not like him. Heehee!

10 months old!

I can't believe that my sweet little baby is going to be a whole year old in just 2 short months! It seems like such an enormous milestone - but aren't they all? I mean, everything these little creatures do is amazing and wonderful and so much fun to watch - rolling over, sitting up, crawling, cruising, standing unsupported, walking (almost!) - but there's just something about that one year birthday...

Please enjoy some photos taken at my parents' house on New Year's Day. :)

Happy New Year!

2008 was a wonderful year for our little family. I can't wait to see what's in store for 2009!
