We went down to the Bay Area to visit my dad over Labor Day Weekend, and I took Billy and Timothy to El Morocco for the first time. As some of you know, long ago in another life, I used to be a featured dancer there, so I thought it would be fun for them to see what I used to do before I decided to become a tax attorney... hehe! Anyway, Timothy really enjoyed getting his hands washed at the table at the beginning and end of the meal, sitting on a big cushion on the floor, running around all over the restaurant before the dancer came out, playing with a light-up camel (mamoo!) by the sound system, and most of all (of course!) the dancer!
I have NO idea what I was thinking, because I left the camera at home when we went, so I was only able to get a few fuzzy, dark shots with my phone. They're still pretty priceless, if you ask me!
Anyway, before the dancer came out, Timothy was rocking out, totally entertaining everyone. Once she came out, he was mesmerized, and just stood there and stared for a while.
Then he saw her belly button, and he turned to one of the tables that had really been cracking up over his dancing earlier, pulled up his shirt, and showed them his belly button. It was SO cute!!
And then she came and danced with him. It was so funny, because I think he just didn't know what to make of it all. He wouldn't dance when she was right there, but once she moved on, of course he was at it again.
And then, he got brave and he tipped her. The crowd went wild! :)
A good time was had by all. And boy, oh boy am I craving some harira (Moroccan lentil soup) right about now!!
