Us watching Auntie Monki's black belt presentation*:
*(overheard several times at said presentation, "Wow! What a good baby!" - Our thoughts on that? "If by 'good' you mean quiet, then yes, of course he is! We wear him all the time, so why wouldn't he be?")

My sister ROCKS!!
We went down to the Bay Area for Auntie Angie's black belt presentation ceremony today, and it was SO COOL! We finally got to see her in action, as she did a couple of demonstrations, one of which is depicted in the video below. I sure would hate to be on the receiving end of any of that!
Yay, Monki!

Laughter!
Timothy is now starting to laugh! He's still trying to figure it out, but he's getting there. He thinks it's absolutely hilarious when Billy or I stick our tongues out at him & he just laughs and laughs. The sound of his laughter fills me with so much emotion that I get teary-eyed when I hear it!
"Mommy Adores Me"
"What a cute and stylin' outfit!"
"Chewin' on my fist again..."

Bonus materials
Here's a video of Timothy demonstrating how he bounces. This isn't nearly as exuberant as usual, but it gives a pretty good idea of what he does:
This is how I get laundry and other sundry household chores done, and also how we take the majority of our walks and run errands:

A visit from a friend and Mommy's Birthday!
Timothy had his first "playdate"! My friend and former coworker Jessica and her son Daniel, who was born in December, came over to visit us for a couple of hours on Thursday. It was really great to finally meet the little guy in person! I've been following his blog since day one, and he's every bit as cute and squishable in person as he looks in his pictures. Of course, the boys aren't exactly at the playing stage yet, but the did seem interested in checking each other out. It was very cute! I'm kicking myself for not having taken a picture of Daniel and Timothy together... :( Next time, though!
Yesterday was my 32nd birthday, and a lovely day it was. Timothy and I spent the day indoors, as we unfortunately weren't able to make it out for a walk while it was still cool in the morning. Timothy watched half of a Baby Einstein dvd (he loves seeing all the babies doing various things - he gets really excited and jumps non-stop in my lap!) and played on his activity mat for a while, but mostly he nursed and slept (probably due to the heat).
Since the house went on the market on Wednesday, we had a visit from our realtor's photographer. He took some great shots of the house, including this beautiful picture of the nursery:
He was also kind enough to offer to take this family picture in front of the house for posterity:
After he left, we decided to get take-out from our neighborhood italian place instead of braving the heat and possible Friday night crowds. Timothy and Billy got me an adorable card ("Happy Birthday from cute & cuter" heehee) and a beautiful pair of aquamarine earrings - Timothy's birthstone! I also got several cards and gifts from other family and friends - thank you all for thinking of me!
All in all, it was a very good day!

The pictures I promised!
Okay, so here are some pictures from the last couple of weeks, as well as the video of Timothy enjoying his "gymini" activity mat. Make sure you have the sound on when you watch it, because you'll get to hear some of his new sounds!
Zonked!
"Is this the finger?"
On our way out for Timothy's first forward-facing Bjorn walk:
"I have my daddy's ears!"
Drool-monkey!
"Aren't I cute?"

Busy, busy, busy!
Wow! I can't believe that it's been 11 days since I last posted anything! We've had so much going on that the days have just flown by.
Timothy got to meet "Auntie" Dotti on the 4th and 5th. She was here all the way from North Carolina, and she carved out two whole days to spend with us. We had a really fun time with her. Timothy loved her voice and laugh, and he was just all smiles when she held him. It was so great to see her - I just wish we could see her more often!
We also ran into Sara and Isaac at the mall last Monday. Sara is my old classmate and co-worker Jesse's wife, and Isaac is their absolutely adorable little guy. I was so happy to run into them. I've been following Isaac's blog since September, when he was born, so it was great to finally meet him in person!
On Tuesday, May 6th, Timothy had his 2-month check-up. He weighed in at 9lbs 14oz!!! (Well, that was with a big wet diaper on, so we figure that accounted for 2oz or so!) Still, that means he gained 2lbs in 5 weeks! No question as to whether he's getting enough to eat, eh? Also, he measured 23.25" long! So, he's in the 57th percentile for height, but only in the 10th percentile for weight - I'm not sure where he's getting these long 'n' lean genes! heehee
We've also been working on getting the house cleaned up and "staged" so we can put it on the market. We did a big clean-up on Tuesday evening because a slew of brokers came through on Wednesday for a preview to create some buzz. Then, on Saturday, Grandpa Jay and Grandma Peggy came over and helped us move a bunch of stuff out, and do a deeper clean. I don't know how we would've done it all without them!
On Sunday - my first official Mother's Day! - we went to Grandma Niki and Grandpa Evaristo's house for lunch. Timothy was in a great mood, so that made for a nice visit. Auntie Angie (or Auntie Monki, as I like to call her) even made an appearance to hang out with her one and only nephew for a while. We headed back to Sacramento and over to Aunt Susan's for dessert later in the evening. Oh, and Timothy got me a cute card and a hot/cold neck pillow (of course he picked it all out himself!)
After all that excitement, we spent a nice quiet Monday at home and had some much-needed rest and cuddle time.
Yesterday, we ventured out to Trader Joe's for some supplies, and did several loads of laundry. Timothy and daddy went for an evening walk, and then daddy finished getting stuff moved in the master bedroom.
This morning, I went to a mommy group meeting to meet some of the other moms in the neighborhood who have babies Timothy's age. It was great! There has been a little baby boom in the area, so there were 8 infants and several toddlers there, and Timothy was mesmerized by all the other little people. He was so into everything that was going on that he didn't even fall asleep after nursing. Needless to say, as soon as we got in the car to go on to our next activity, he was out like a light! We were planning on going to an infant massage class, but I decided not to wake him up, so we ran some errands instead. He's now fast asleep on my lap after waking up & nursing when we got home. He's been sleeping a bit more now that the weather has warmed up so much.
We're looking forward to a play date that we have set for tomorrow with my former co-worker Jessica and her adorable little guy, Daniel. Daniel was born in December, and I'm really looking forward to finally meeting him in person!
That's all for now... I will come back and post some pictures later today, after I get a chance to upload them.

2 months old!
Well, as of yesterday, Timothy is officially 2 months old. I can't believe it! I guess what they say is true - time flies when you're having fun! I was just looking over all the pictures from when he was first born, and I can't believe how much he's changed already. It's so hard to see the physical changes day-to-day, but I've already started a "doesn't fit anymore" pile, so I know he's growing! He's also getting to be more and more fun every day. He's beginning to enjoy playing more on his own - last night he spent about 20 minutes batting at the dangling toys on his "gymini" activity mat. I'll have to try to get a video of that - it's very cute!
In the meantime, do we have a thumbsucker on our hands? (No pun intended!)
