I'm noticing a theme here...

This year:

Last year:

Heehee!

Catching up...

Well, a lot has been going on the past couple of weeks, which has left me with a lot of pictures and videos to post, but no time to post them! So, here is the redux:

May 16th was my birthday (29 again, right? hehe!). We spent a long weekend down in Lafayette so we could help take care of my dad after his hernia surgery, and although it wasn't Disneyland, we had a nice time. Timothy had a great time playing with Auntie Monki and Uncle Ryan, and I even got to take a nap when they took him to the park!

"Here's your card, mama!"

"Nice jammies, grandpa!"

We also had another toddler playgroup to attend, this time at the triplets' house, and a good time was had by all. They have a wonderful back yard with a play structure and lots of toys, so there was much to do.

Then, there was picture day at school. Little man looked SO cute!! (He wouldn't come in from the hallway for some reason, so this is as good as it gets for now!)

We also hit up some garage sales one day, in hopes of finding a nice little chair for him, as lately he's been all about his-sized seating. We totally lucked out and found a great one at one sale, though I will have to motivate to reupholster it one of these days soon.

Timothy also got to go to a Jesuit baseball game with daddy. I'm told it was lots of fun.

In the past few weeks, Timothy has also become very serious about his music. Heehee!!

And, the lucky little boy got to go swimming at Aunt Susan's for the first time this year. He was pretty much a velcro baby the whole time we were in the pool, but he loosened up a bit in the spa. All in all, he had a good time. :)

Oh, and this one is for Aunt Debbie: Timothy has been getting little sips of my chai tea most mornings lately, and this weekend, he got to have his own in the adorable little mug that he got for Christmas from Aunt Debbie, Uncle Matt & cousin Joseph. He felt like such a big boy!

There's more to come, but I haven't uploaded the rest of the pictures, so this'll have to do for now.

Talky-talkerson

Okay, so I've been wanting to make/post a list of words and signs that Timothy knows for quite a while, and I'm finally getting around to it! So without further ado...

Spoken words:

1. dada, papa or baba = daddy
2. mama or my = me
3. uh-oh! = I dropped it, I threw it, it's on the ground, messy
4. dai = light or fan or the moon
5. tuh-tuh = turtle
6. dutton or duh-tuh or buh-buh = belly button
7. tat or didi = cat or kitty
8. woof = dog or train
9. moh? = more or please or I want some
10. shsss = shoe
11. sscks = socks
12. chssss = cheese
13. ah-tide = outside
14. ah-wight = alright
15. yah or da = yes/yeah
16. no = well, no, of course! hehe
17. nigh-nigh = night-night (just got this one two nights ago!)
18. nah = banana (used very rarely; mostly he just points and says "moh?")
19. buh or sometimes busssss = bus
20. droller = stroller (he's only used this one twice so far)
21. bauuuuu = ball (I can't even believe I forgot this one!! He says it ALL the time!!)
22. Diane or dyh-dyh = well, Diane! She's one of the teachers at daycare. He's said it clear as day a couple of times, but more often than not it's "dyh-dyh". I have a feeling that he knows more of the teacher's names, I just haven't heard them yet. Most of the older kids know all of each other's names, too, so I'm looking forward to that. :)
23. chuh = chair
24. bubbs or bubbuhs = bubbles (another one I can't believe I forgot! He's been saying this one for a while!)
25. Ebboh!!! = Elmo (so flippin' cute!)
26. Dah! = that

Honestly, how could I forget...
27. Hi-eeeee or eye-eeeee = Hi
28. Buh-bye or bye-bye or bye-eee = well, you get the picture!
Both of these are accompanied by waving, of course!

29. Bah = book
30. mmmmmm = yum! or I like this!
31. Ah-nun = all done

I will continue to edit as I remember more (or as "baba" reminds me of more!). And Baba also wanted me to note that he tries to "parrot" back most things that we say to him. Very cute!

As for signs he knows:

"more" - has been doing for 4-5 months
"milk" - probably for 3-4 months
"eat" - within the last 2 weeks
nods/shakes head for yes/no - has been doing for quite a while
"hot" - he's been doing this one for a while, and I think it's such a cute sign = purse lips and blow
"all done" - waves arm back and forth (supposed to be both arms, but he only uses one)

We're now working on signs for "please", "thank you" and "patience".

He also combines the sign for "milk" with the spoken word for "more", which I think is too cute - he even does this when he's asleep sometimes!

BFFs

For Mother's Day, we went on a family playdate with our new friend, Jakob, and his mom and dad, Lacy and Chris. We met them at school when Lacy and I were picking the little ones up a couple of weeks ago, and we really hit it off.

Anyway, we met up at Fairy Tale Town and the boys had a great time playing (and eating leaves) while the parents got to chat and get to know each other a little better. I'm really excited that we have made some new friends, and I hope we get to spend more time together soon!

One of the coolest parts about this park is that it's all fenced in and really geared toward little ones, so we could give them a pretty wide berth to explore.

The Cheese stands alone!

"Hey, Jakey, whatcha doing in there??"

This is Timothy's newest trick - we're calling it the Running Man because, well, see for yourself! He's been doing it a lot lately, and I just think it's adorable (of course!). In this instance, he had found that the grate made noise when he did it, so he did it over, and over, and over again! Go figure - we pay to get into a park and this is what he plays with!

Ring Around the Rosy

Well, Roseola, that is! Poor little guy had it last week. I probably would've been completely at a loss as to what it was, except for the fact that our little friend, Isaac, had it last week so I had just read all about it on his blog & was aware of the symptoms. It all started on Monday night with a low-grade fever, followed by a very restless night. He seemed much better in the morning, so we took him to school, where he did very well most of the day until about 4:30 or so, when they took his temp and he was up to 101.6.

So, Grandma Peggy and Grandpa Jay took turns watching him for us for the rest of the week. Each day went pretty much the same way. He would do fine throughout the day (except for not having much of an appetite), and then would spike a fever of ~102 in the evening. Grandma Peggy took him to the doctor on Friday, just to rule out ear infection, since no rash had appeared yet, but his ears were clear. That night, there was no fever, and he seemed to be his old self on Saturday.

That night, though, after running some errands and going to dinner, he finally developed the rash and spiked to 103.9. The poor thing had the chills and just kept whimpering as he tried to nurse and sleep. We managed to bring the fever down quite quickly with a Tylenol/Motrin one-two punch, and after that, he slept like a baby (hehe). And that was it! Sunday morning, the fever was gone, the rash was gone, and he was 100% himself. So weird!

Li'l Ref

Looks like Timothy might be following in daddy's referee footsteps!

My Little Cutie

We finally got a cd with the photos that Aunti Monki took at Timothy's birthday party, so I thought I'd share a couple of cute shots.
